Dogstore is a new concept within the pet shop industry.
Unlike most outlets of its kind, Barry's Dogstore does not sell live
animals. If a customer contacts us saying they want to acquire a dog
or cat, we provide them with ample information on the many animal
rescue centres in the Costa del Sol area. These centres have many
dogs and cats - of all ages, breeds and types - looking for a new
owner and a home. Fortunately, many of these customers agree to, at
least, visit or contact one or two centres and many have found in
them the new companion they were looking for.
For those who already have a pet(s), our aim is to offer an overall
service, ranging from advice on the nutritional needs of the individual
pet, to obtaining accessories the owners may have had great difficulty
locating, as well as offering a wide range of pet-related services.

Barry's Dogstore offers a wide range of pet-related services, such
as:
Pet-taxi service. If you need to take your dog or cat to the
vet or another place but have no means of transport (regular taxis
will not normally take animals) you can call our pet-taxi service
and we will take and/or collect you. This service is available in
Marbella and surrounding area, also to/from Malaga airport.
Dog psychology. If your dog has behaviour problems, or undesirable
habits that you have not been able to correct, you may wish to consult
our dog psychology service. Remember, almost every problem has a solution
or can at least be improved!!
General information. Perhaps you have only recently moved to
the Costa del Sol, or are just here on holiday and don't know the
area. Maybe your pet becomes ill and you urgently need to contact
an English-speaking vet… We can put you in touch with vets, groomers,
boarding kennels, etc.
In the unfortunate event that your pet should pass away, we can provide
an efficient and caring cremation service.

"Save a Stray" is a new project, created by Barry's
Dogstore, aimed at encouraging would-be dog owners to adopt a dog
- or puppy/cat/kitten - from one of our local Rescue Centres, as opposed
to buying one. Don't buy a pup in a pet shop - SAVE A STRAY!!
You might be concerned about the possible problems a rescue dog may
entail due to its past circumstances, why it ended up in a Rescue
Centre, etc.
It is certainly advisable to choose carefully, talk with the staff
about each candidate, and be fairly confident your circumstances can
adapt to the dog's needs.
However, the satisfaction and pride derived from knowing you saved
a dog which may otherwise have gone on "death row" (go to
our topic "A Cry for Help") is immesurable.
Barry's Dogstore Discussion Forum is open to everyone, to request,
receive and offer advice, free of charge, both from professional dog
trainers/psychologists and fellow dog owners who may have good advice
to give others. Furthermore, anyone who adopts - or is considering
adopting - a dog from a Rescue Centre is guaranteed a professional
reply, free of charge, to any doubts or queries they may have.
